[CITIES XL PLATINUM] New road design project and some discussions...

Such megacity like this needs huge roads to afford massive traffics. Basically, roads should be designed within the grid-lines and less cross should be built.    Therefore! I placed an urban expressway that connects with residence area and industrial (offices and factories) area. There are only three crosses that exist on the urban expressway. Before the construction of this urban expressway, there were only two approaches from residential area to industrial zone (subway and normal road). However, the construction has lead citizens to commute faster than they used to. Furthermore, some experimental road designs have been implemented in this city. INTERCHANGES WITH RAMPS! AND Still, citizens face traffic jams, but compare to those of the past...these are nothing at all😂. but I'm still considering the alternative to the design of interchanges. Perhaps, I may reference the design from here ..? Hmm...Calgary's one s...

[TRIP] One-day field trip to Hoa Binh

I'd binh  been to Hoa Binh on the 4th of September for the ESS field experiment! I interviewed local people about to what extent has dam influence their life and the standard of living for the local community and took a water sample from the reservoir and the river. Hoa Binh is 76 km far from Hanoi, so it's nearby Hanoi. This city (province) is very well known for its minority community but also the biggest hydroelectric dam among all in Southeast Asia! The day I'd been to Hoa Binh was actually 'The independence day of Vietnam', so it was difficult to find interviewees. I aimed to interview 50 people, but I could only interview approximately 30 people by the end. Floating houses on 'Da river'... I could see some locals fishing around here. I asked fishers how many fishes are caught on a daily basis. They answered that compare to the time when there was no dams, the amount of fishes being caught has decreased dramatically...

[NORMAL DAYS IN KOREA] Review on Jamsil baseball stadium

As an avid Lotte Giants fan, I could not miss an opportunity to watch a match held in Seoul. There was a match between Lotte Giants and Doosan Bears on 23rd June. I had no hesitance to buy a ticket for that. I went to the stadium with my friend, who is a fan of the Doosan Bears. The ticket costs approximately $10.5 per person (weekday fare/The second floor and Infield seats). It was a reasonable price. This is a waiting queue to enter the baseball stadium. I could see many Lotte fans visit here to root for Lotte as I do. Basically, Jamsil Baseball Stadium is a baseball stadium located between the business area and the residential area of Seoul. Thereby Jamsil Stadium always has relatively more fans than those of any other stadiums.  Food that I ate in the stadium. Well-grilled Korean BBQ was a nice choice for me during watching a game. This is one of the remarkable rooting chants(?) ever I experienced in my life. This is basically a chant that disturbs...

[NORMAL DAYS IN KOREA] Urban farming with my relatives!

My aunt and auntie are living in the far-east region of Seoul. So there are relatively less pollution and more proportions of green fields. The local district government is also encouraging citizens to utilize the green fields in the district. The urban planning was one of the policies that encourage people to use green fields effectively. The overall glimpse of the urban farming field. I felt kind of weird but surprised at this point ...😂 The Sauron looked like a creature is called 'Lotte World Tower'. The tallest (in 2017) skyscraper in South Korea. My family helped to harvest aunt's farming field. I accidentally killed(?) too many lettuces here by mercilessly extracting their leaves. But I found that those lettuces grow rapidly than any others so I got fewer worries! A WEEK LATER... The heavy rain season has begun by the end of June. My aunt, auntie and I assumed that those plants already got abundant water in few past days. So we went ther...

[SCHOOL TRIP] Economics project in Sapa...(Conclusion and Video analysis)

My group-mates and I collaborated together to produce the analysis of the local economy in Sapa, the small town in Northwestern Vietnam. Through primary and secondary research, we realized that many people in the rural area of Vietnam are barely getting benefit from economic development. Corrupted and wrongly thinking local government has lead to the misallocation of capitals in Sapa's economy. Therefore I think there should be a fair organization that monitors the fairness of policies produced by the local government.

[SCHOOL TRIP] Economics project in Sapa...(Second day)

Second day has begun. Rain showered the ground during the midnight. My friend seems like he's satisfied by the weather. We started hiking towards the homestay village. A glimpse of Sapa from the mountain. Local people were cultivating marijuana for clothing. Duck family! Little enjoyment during the hiking..! Meanwhile in trekking track... After 5 hours of non-stop hiking, we rest for 30 minutes. (basically water break) And asked local people about the quality of their life. Continuing the hiking Local kids were selling locally-produced goods to hikers such as us. They were meant to study by the time we were in that town, but it was very sad to see them working for their family. Economic growth in Sapa brought lots of money in Sapa, but that money was always returned to people from the city, not locals. The river was used for many uses. I could see some kids were swimming in the river. I hiked approximatel...
